So you would like to Commission a Garment

 

 

So you have been dreaming of a corset or a beautiful gown out of a fantasy! Maybe you need to go to an event and don’t have a stitch to wear! Well you’re in luck Cinderella because that’s what I specialize in!

 

 

 

Step 1: Contact Me

The first thing you need to do is send me an email with the following:

-Your name and contact information

-A description of the event or project you have in mind

-Pictures or links to images that inspired this project (It’s okay if you don’t have any)

-Your timeframe if applicable

-Your approximate budget if applicable

 

Step 2: Consultation and Design

Come meet me in Alameda to discuss your project over tea. When you come bring any inspiration you may find with you and we’ll go over the basic design. I’ll have prepared some images by this time based on your initial email. The first hour of consultation is free, but past that hour there will be a charge of $60/hour. Don’t worry, an hour is plenty of time.
If we decide to move forward with the project then a non-refundable $150 deposit is required to begin. This deposit will be applied to the final bill.

 

Step 3: Sketches and Estimates

In this meeting I will have a sketch prepared for you as well as swatches for the fabric and trim we might use. After we have come to an agreement on design, fabric, and budget and have signed a contract to that affect, a 50% deposit is due.

I will then take your measurements and start sewing! Please wear or bring a close fitting tank top or t-shirt to wear for the measurements.

 

Step 4: Fitting

I will have a mock up ready for you and will do a fitting based on this mock up. A mock up is a rough version of your garment in a less expensive fabric. It won’t look like much, but what it is there for is to assure that the fit is right. There may be additional fittings based on the type of garment. Corsets in particular require 2-3 fitting, very rarely 4.

 

Step 5: Final Fitting and Payment

Your garment is completed! When you come in I will do a final fitting just to make sure that everything fits just right and if needed will make the final adjustments required. Your payment is due before you can take anything home, but once that is done you will have your completed one of a kind luxury garment made just for you!

Step 6: Optional Photo Session

Once you have your garment finished I bet you want some pictures of you looking amazing in it! Well you’re in luck! With your purchase you get a free photo shoot of you in your garment. We can arrange to do this when you pick up for your final fitting or for a later time. Please allow for 1-3 hours of time depending on hair and make up needed.
